Over the past several weeks I have been preparing for my departure. I have stressed over everything from my funding, to my malaria medication to the clothes I’m going to wear. I have double checked and triple checked that I have everything I’m going to need.  But during the past week or so the Lord has been bringing Matthew 6:25-30 to mind. It reads, “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith?” These verses have reminded me that I don’t need to worry about anything. The Lord will take care of my funding, my packing and all of my needs.

Now that I’ve arrived at training camp and have settled in, it has been so incredible to see how the Lord is moving. I’ve experienced worship in a whole new way and seen the Holy Spirit move like I never have before. I’ve seen miracle healings and hearts changed. One thing I’ve heard a lot recently is that God has His hand on Gen Z. And I’ve seen it, I’m surrounded by amazing young adults who are just on fire for the Lord. Together we’ve experienced so much already: sleeping outside in the rain, eating cucumber, tortillas and honey for lunch, and walking up and down hills in the Georgia humidity. Things like that are challenging, but it’s been worth it. There has been such revival just in this first week and I’m so excited to see what else happens. If this is what He can do in a week, I can’t wait to see what He can do in 9 months!

Stay tuned to see what else the Lord can do!
